Organized in 1974 and federated into the Garden Clubs of Mississippi in 1975, the New Albany Garden Club has dedicated itself to furthering the interests of gardening, conservation, and beautification. While horticulture, garden therapy, and community service are major interests of club members, conservation has received increased attention as the club seeks new ways to protect and promote native plants, pollinators, and water quality. Additionally, New Albany Garden Club provides funding for many garden-related projects at the Union County Heritage Museum, most notably the Faulkner Literary Garden, as well as The Park Along the River Arboretum and public spaces around the City of New Albany through community fundraisers.
